Houston, We have a Person Enchanted with the Museum

 


Our visit to the NASA museum in Houston was an unforgettable experience. The time flew by as we explored the museum, and many in our group felt like children - and their amazed way to see the World - especially when seeing the rockets. However, others from the group felt that the museum resembled more of an amusement park. Despite the cloudy weather, nobody seemed to mind, as the excitement was all over.

For me, it was a dream come true that my teenage self, a huge astronomy fan, never even dared to dream. A highlight was knowing more about Artemis Project, that intends to come back to the Moon and explore its surface. Anyway, the visit has became an inspirational enviroment more than I had ever imagined. The museum exceeded all my expectations and made for an extraordinary morning of exploration and wonder. And I won't even mention the Houston Natural Science Museum or this post will be too long 😅

 Last Friday night is the first line in the chorus of Katy Perry's song "T.G.I.F" and the topic of my post today!  On my last Friday in the US, I woke up in the mood to dance - yes, in the early morning, feeling sleepy but thinking about dancing, can you imagine it? kkk - and some of my classmates were also excited about the Idea to have some fun on our Last Friday in Austin.  We went to Barbarella Austin, which was promoting a Special 80's party that night, and I had a lot of fun, dance, laughing and some tears. I mean, come on, dance "YMCA" with a crowd in the US!? Listening the main music theme of the memorable movie "The Breakfast Club" on a night club!? Those are kinds of things that I never imagined experiencing!  Unlike how Katy Perry ends her song with "next Friday night, do it all again," next Friday night won't be the same for me - in fact, is It never the same, right? - But my point here is to emphasize how this experience ...

The "who" factor

  This trip have been made me think a lot about people. It turns out that more amazing experiences I have more I think about the "who" factor.  Since I knew that I was selected to PDPI program, I've been dreaming about how cool would be live in an American campus, have classes with native teachers at the university and compare the real US with the one from the movies and TV shows. And since day 3, I realized that living all the new experiences were not as special as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, I still am enjoying and I was amazed by every new detail that I experienced. However, during the entire first two days I wasn't so happy and I didn't say why until I noticed that almost every minute from those two days I was with my smartphone in my hands and I realized something: who is with me when I'm experiencing amazing things is so important than the things themselves and that is what I'm calling "the 'who' factor".
